Manor Farm

Address : Butterfield Green Road, Luton

Grid Reference : TL1049824483

Site Status : Draft Local List

Site Description : Manor Farm was one of the homes of the 'de la Haye' family who owned land in Luton from the 12th century. The earliest written evidence for them living in Stopsley is late 14th century. The present house and most of the farm buildings were largely rebuilt to a 'modern' symmetrical pattern around 1870 by Putteridge Bury Estate. Parts of earlier buildings still survive in the western part of the Big Barn and cart shed, and in the original well (approx 70 m. deep).

Site Location (OS map and aerial view)

A red marker shows the site's location on the map and aerial view below. Use the slider controls or +/- buttons to zoom in and out, or click and drag the map or aerial view to move around.

To view street level photographs using Google Street View, drag the little orange figure (top left in the aerial view) onto one of the roads. To exit Street View, click the X in the top right corner. NB - when in Street View the red marker's position can be less accurate and may not always point to the correct building. You can blame Google for that, not us!
